The Deloitte Excellence Centar has an approximate area of 5,000 sq m in Torre Diana in Mexico City. The program was structured to fully meet the needs of operating a training center for all staff. It is divided in two levels which are linked by a large space, a staircase that can also function as an open forum for 600 people.
It has twelve meeting rooms for twelve people each, a bistro, six Deloitte University halls and two \”Green Houses\”. All these spaces are intended to operate efficiently for the successful training of more than 1200 people daily both from Mexico and other countries. At the top is the boardroom of the group, a dining room for 400 people and twelve technical classrooms.
This facility is programmed for ultimate flexibility, and has already housed multiple faculty lectures, theatrical performances, talks by politicians, and many other activities. An art gallery welcomes visitors just off the entrance, and adjacent to offices. A flexible classroom allows for computer training, interactive classrooms, and video gaming events to happen. The theater can house full production, and allow news agencies to tie into their broadcast systems for live streaming of events, and HarvardX recordings and transmission. An Art Studio, a Science Lab, and six mentoring rooms provide opportunities for young Boston students to be part of the growing STEAM programs set up by Harvard students focused on education. In all, the place is a mecca for learning, studying, and culture.
In the initial conversations with Chan Han Goh, the director of Goh Ballet Academy, she identifies that ‘dance is not about luxury, it is about the work, and what is done in the studio,’ and that is why the architecture of the Goh Ballet Academy is stripped back and minimal, creating a focus on the technical aspects of dance. The former principal dancer of the National Ballet of Canada had begun her training in her parent’s basement and wanted her studio to reflect the modest necessities for training in ballet.

This archery club is a building of 650 square metres. The entire space is divided into two parts: the front of the building serves as a reception and an office, each of them located on different floors, while the back is an archery ground with shooting lines and targets. Except for the building structure, this archery club is composed of a number of different kinds of non-permanent materials such as cement fiber board on straight and curve walls, crushed rocks on a target ground and wire mesh fence. Both the inside and the outside are covered by navy blue acrylic paint, contrasting with the semi-polished concrete floor.

The Red Cross Volunteer House is an extension of the national headquarters of Red Cross in Denmark in Copenhagen. The triangular building has a 850-m2 roof that acts as a large public staircase extending from the street level to the second floor of the building. The extension, which has a floorspace of 750 m2, is placed partially below ground and serves as the main entrance to both the headquarters and the volunteer centre. The Red Cross Volunteer House was designed with the ambition of creating a new meeting place for the 34,000 Red Cross volunteers as well as a new public space – an urban living room that gives something back to the city. That ambition has been realized.
Client: Danish Red Cross – The new building was made possible only with a grant of DKK 30.7 million from the private foundation A. P. Møller og Hustru Chastine Mc-Kinney Møllers Fond til almene Formål.
