The development of user experience therefore seeks to connect more to the local culture, giving rise to site-specfic design. The client wished for a one-of-a-kind, sleek and modern looking house while being faithful to the ancient Chinese traditional geomancy practice of Feng Shui. It was due to the ancient wisdom that before the design process began, the site was divided into nine equal sections, representing the eight cardinal points and their center. Article source: K.N.Associates Another brick in the wall and yet not just a brick in the wall: KN Associates, sure knows their way around to find distinctiveness and centrality at whatever they are looking… PUSHPATMA began at a rather sweet note where the homeowners were a simple, close-knit family who wanted a humble abode; that hits a sugary note with every modern, contemporary as well as culturally-steeped elements. The house comes across as a geometrical riot where different forms of squares, rectangles and circles are visibly juxtaposed. Occupying a crucial transitional space between the Rennes’ centre and its outer reaches, the 12-storey, 10,550-square-metre complex brings much-needed density in the context of the city’s outward growth, providing 138 homes in a variety of sizes and price ranges – including 37 units of social housing as well as commercial spaces and pleasant new public spaces in a green waterside environment. Article source: YCL studio A memorable and minimalist 68-square-meter apartment with a unique staircase-like detail in Vilnius, in the newly developed residential complex of PAUPYS. The accents of this interior were set by contrasting colors and textures, with a unique stair detail on the ceiling, revealed by the hidden technical piping. The stairs detail creates a unique feeling of the upside-down climb, yet it is very slightly visible and doesn‘t create an oppressive feeling, but an interesting volumetric image inside the main area of the apartment. Article source: HO arquitectura de interiores Secoyas, is a remodeling project for a young foreign newlywed couple, the apartment had an eclectic concept. One of the biggest challenges was to create a living space, with an open kitchen that unified the spaces, as well as a comfortable area to receive visitors. The concept on which the entire design was based is a contemporary and monochromatic style, with neutral colors such as gray, beige and white, creating a balance between cold and warm. Materials such as porcelain tiles were used to give the appearance of marble, light oak wood lightly stained, stainless steel in mirror finish to give the feeling of spaciousness. Establishes an intense dialogue with the garden. The living environments are joined to the balcony through large frames, which when open, result in a unique environment. Article source: Les Archinautes The building is located in the heart of Bohemian Forest with a view of Lipno lake. This cabin was built on a place where an old wooden cabin used to be. It is designed to provide the perfect base for nearby mountain sports in all conditions. The design follows the urbanism of the buildings in its neighborhood and respects the height conditions in the area. The land is screened by forest from the regional railway line, which passes through the territory to the northeast. A narrower part of the Lipno lake opens to the southeast behind the track, there lies the mouth of the Vltava River.  Image Courtesy © Petr Polák
