“The shape of mind (synapses) creates unexpected perspectives on sites: architecture is not the perfection of the experience (wisdom) or just a representation, but is the capability to produce images, the virtue of a person who learned to imagine and to push his or her imagination further”.
Spaces and objects contain within them the presence of human beings. Human bodies imprint themselves on the very walls between which they live and along which they walk. Landscape can thus be read as a topography of invisible layers left behind by humans.
A sensitive architectural body absorbs, shuffles and reinterprets some of the characters more intimately tied to the collective image of the city of Bressanone: its beautiful secret courts, arcades and mysterious crossing loggias, the preciousness and the refinement of urban details, the syncopated profiles of architectural scenes, the warmth evoked by the gilded surfaces that cover all the most important symbols of the community.
Hans Klotz Ltd. is a long-established and successful wholesale company for fruit and vegetables with headquarter in Bozen-Sigmundskron. The new offices should be integrated into an existing building on the company area. To confer an independent character, the necessary spaces were added as an autonomous, two storey volume above the existing ground floor as a kind of architectural parasite. The new building takes up the roof lines of the old, then distorting them to open the volume on the north and west side, towards huge apple plantations. Hence the new construction allows an optimal orientation of the office spaces to the north, combined with a great outlook.

The company Blaas in Bolzano is specialized in electro-mechanics. In the new head office the company presents its new product range and offers repair service.
On the ground floor of the building there is the sales division, on the first floor the exposition area and the repair shop. All administration offices are located on the second floor. The overall impression of the structure is a homogenous and closed building. Nevertheless, there exists a separation between the public and the private sector. The client can perceive this clear and formal internal division already from the outside.
The concept for the new building of the Province of Bolzano, born from a sculpture idea generated by the desire to establish continuity with the past of the city of Bolzano, is seen as a re-construction of memories, spirit of places and iconological transposition of the symbols of history of the architecture of the city.
