Altihut is a two story hotel, built with materials which were relatively easier to transport to a high altitude location and would perfectly fit into interior. For the wooden interior not to become monotonous we brought white marble, yellow metal grid and plastic chairs of three different colors into the space which complimented and contrasted the natural material. The ceiling is embellished with a white stencil of a traditional Georgian tablecloth ornaments.
The new interior design created for the Mirror Beauty House by Zviad Surguladze is full of unpredictable details. The space is the mix of classic, contemporary and surrealistic details at the same time. The interior bears the experimental nature, I’ve tried to present it as a classic piece with surreal elements, which led to the cutting of panels and doors right on horizon, and I’ve decided to emphasize all this by cutting the pictures together with their frames. On the other hand, the mirrors are thematic for the interior and the fact that they reflect each other countless times makes the space even more surreal.
We are celebrating the completion of the new railway station in Georgia. The international railway station in Akhalkalaki is part of the construction of the new Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway, that connects Azerbaijan and Turkey through Georgia, effectively improving the wider economic relations between Europe and Asia. As a break of gauge is required in Akhalkalaki, as the first stop on Georgian side after the Turkish border, the station as well as the city will become a place of exchange beyond connectivity for all three countries. With its undulating cantilevers the station’s roof and meshed metal façade will give shelter to up to 3 million passengers per year.

The UNStudio designed Kutaisi International Airport was recently voted one of the 13 most beautiful airports in the world by ‘Curbed magazine’ (May 2017).
Just four and a half years after its official opening (September 2012), the airport has grown rapidly from 12,915 passengers per year to more than 300,000 in 2016. Predictions for the low-cost airliner airport are such that it is expected to reach a capacity of close to 1,000,000 passengers by 2020. In order to facilitate this predicted growth UNStudio has now been invited to design a large extension to the existing terminal.

The diversity and contrasts which is offered by the physical and psychological context of the building site, provoked a certain conceptual objective which goes through every part of the exterior and interior design composition. Aim was to sustain a quantum quality of being here and there at the same time, holding the design at the degree when opposite meanings blend into a single matter. Though the layout and the volumes of the Building were intentionally chopped, to achieve a human scale, it still has the large scale elements like a dynamic shape of a portico or a monolithic surface on the facade of a tower which provide a certain feeling of monumentality.
The Building’s full-fledged relationship with natural light is exquisitely balanced with privacy; The roadside windows let daylight illuminate the living room and the second floor bedrooms, but their positioning makes it impossible for an outsider to grasp interior activities.
To be inviting is a central aspect forming the architectural concept of the third municipal Mediatheque opened in 2017 in Tbilisi Georgia.
Building is located in the center of the park, in the district where the housing blocks stand surrounded by the vast and industrial zones. The project is aimed to fill the deficit of the cultural and educational facilities of the area. The Building serves as a traditional and a multimedia library for children and adults, it has the reading halls, children play areas, spaces for the lectures and various presentations. Mediatheque is also a venue for conferences, concerts and exhibitions.
