Tuesday, March 21st, 2017

Article source: architecten|en|en

A school building is a special building in a little village, because almost all the inhabitants have spent an important part of their life there.

This means that, as an architect, you can give children something for the rest of their lives, because everbody remembers his or hers old school building.

“The building as an adventure” was therefor the starting point of the design.

Wednesday, August 22nd, 2012

Article source:  NIO architecten

‘The twelve houses form an integral part of a soundproof embankment along a secondary road from Diependaal, an exclusive residential district in the woods of Hilversum. Despite its inhospitable setting and the clients’ initial scepticism, the futuristic, not to say fantastic, design of the houses attracted users who bought their houses of the drawing board, several years before delivery.

Mini Mall in Rotterdam, Holland by PEÑA architecture & AFARAI

Thursday, October 20th, 2011

Article source: PEÑA architecture & AFARAI

Mini Mall: A shopping mall with a compact, contemporary programme in a monumental building.

The Mini Mall consists of 2500 sq. m. of retail and catering space for entrepreneurs, artists, designers and other creative minds, who will breathe new life into this unique area as from spring 2011. The development of the Hofplein Station into a compact shopping mall comes in response to a lack of affordable locations in Rotterdam where fresh new initiatives can see the light of day, but also with the aim to give the neighborhood quality boost.
