Located in a terraced residential district, the lot for this project was half flat and half sloping. Nearby is Odawara Castle, built in the 15th century. The property looks down on the neighborhood that grew up around the castle, and beyond that Sagami Bay and Enoshima island in the distance. The client, who was born and raised in Odawara, wanted a relaxing home where he and his family could look out on this familiar yet constantly changing
The 50-year-old wooden house had been left to lie in ruin. The roofs had fallen down, the exterior walls had broken, and the floors, walls and ceilings had dismantled of those concept. In the circumstances, the house had been tolerated the invasion of animals and plants from outside and it seemed as if the house had been turning into feral; however, we could found out that the feral house involved a kind of aesthetics and potentiality.
The house is located in the residential area of facing the Sagami Bay in Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan. This town has a mild climate and open atmosphere with sea breeze for long time. On the other hand, the site has different atmosphere of the whole town by surrounded new housing group.
Fun in the outdoors is where in their own way able to produce their own whereabouts. Nestled where the wind is pleasant, see the good scenery, to find a sat easy place to enjoy a cup of coffee, put a tarp between trees.
I renovated a room of an old Japanese apartment into a flat for new lifestyle by inserting several simple wooden boxy volumes.
The room is located in a boundary between an old town and a developing district around Tokyo. From this room on the top floor of the building, we see a scenery like Rear Window from Hitchcock below.
A protestant church stands at a rich green residential area which is 10-minutes away from Shonan beach on foot. The chapel of the 50-year old church became too small and it was therefore decided that a new church would be constructed on a different site. Church authorities said that the passages of the Bible are read and heard in service. Therefore, “We wish to have a chapel appropriate to give praise to the Lord.
This hair salon “BLISS” is a tenant interior design project on the second floor of the building, located near the Komachi St. in Kamakura. Request from the client is hybrid of 2 main identity in Kamakura, luxury and surf culture, which is a proposed analysis of preference and age group of the target that comes from the client’s experience. We set the light effect to enjoy different feeling from natural light in daytime to indirect illumination at night. In the entrance, after walking throw 2 main gate silently on the carpet as a check in high class hotel, counseling and reception counter is placed as if a concierge desk. Next to the counter, waiting space surrounded by white bamboo has a function of a buffer between cut space and lounge space. Between cut space and shampoo space, green screen is installed as a see throw partition, creating the soft atmosphere of the space. We challenged to direct two atmosphere in one space by changing contrast of light effect with material.

The first floor was asked for the inventory storage warehouse, and the second floor was asked for them at a maximum of 16 persons’ business space, and the third floor was asked for an executive room and a conference room.
This project is a home for a family of three in one unit of a twenty-six year old apartment building.
Although the previous ceiling height was a uniform 2450mm, after checking the structural drawings we realized that the existing height was the minimum required due to the placement of a services pit above, with the slab actually much higher in places, so we proceeded in planning the layout considering this height.
