XAMAN BAR in Colonia Juarez, Mexico City by archdifusión

Sunday, October 22nd, 2017

Article source: archdifusión

The project consisted in creating a high-end cocktail bar through the intervention of a basement in an inconspicuous building at Colonia Juarez, Mexico City.

A downward stairway brings you to the front door. Upon entrance, dimmed lighting creates a different atmosphere from that of the outdoors, helping the user to quickly forget the almost generic appearance of the building’s facade.

Wednesday, October 18th, 2017

Article source: ABRAHAM COTA PAREDES Arquitectos

The house expresses the search for an introspective architecture, an architecture that envelopes itself, where privacy is the best gift.

The project is an evolution of the concept of the screen wall, an idea arising from the exercise of homes in gated communities, where the search for privacy and wealth of interior space, cause a mechanism of introspection. The site, between party walls, is located in the foothills of the spring forest in the city of Guadalajara Mexico. The distribution reflects the direction of the terrain: west-east.

La Fontaine in Polanco, Mexico by Sobrado + Ugalde Arquitectos

Wednesday, October 4th, 2017

Article source: Sobrado + Ugalde Arquitectos

Located in one of the most sought-after areas of Mexico City we were given the task of designing a department of 216 m2 just delivered and newly remodeled. The first thing we did was to open large spaces of light and double heights, since the department was very dark, had wasted spaces, corridors and small rooms, leaving many wasted areas; these things are exactly what you should not have a department of this level and cost, so we took on the task of minimizing the circulations and provide the best experience of moving from one space to another.

Parque Yucatán Housing is part of a wider project developed in central Mexico which deals with house industrialization processes. The implementation of a mixed construction system proposes the construction of a ground floor by traditional means –a brick and concrete wall closing a certain area- which is technified by a technical module. Over these enclosures, a series of prefabricated 2,44 x 6,10 x 3,06 m modules are lifted, built with metal frame structure and dry construction systems.
