Situated in the heart of Polanco, Newton 105 Restaurant is conceived as an opportunity to bolster one of the commercial areas with the highest added value in Mexico City. This project’s architectural design bestows attributes and satisfies a set of requirements that attest to this business’ quality.
The project consisted in creating a high-end cocktail bar through the intervention of a basement in an inconspicuous building at Colonia Juarez, Mexico City.
A downward stairway brings you to the front door. Upon entrance, dimmed lighting creates a different atmosphere from that of the outdoors, helping the user to quickly forget the almost generic appearance of the building’s facade.
The house expresses the search for an introspective architecture, an architecture that envelopes itself, where privacy is the best gift.
The project is an evolution of the concept of the screen wall, an idea arising from the exercise of homes in gated communities, where the search for privacy and wealth of interior space, cause a mechanism of introspection. The site, between party walls, is located in the foothills of the spring forest in the city of Guadalajara Mexico. The distribution reflects the direction of the terrain: west-east.
Located in Colonia Tabacalera, Homework is a 1000 sq. m. co-working space that is divided into workspaces, meeting rooms, mini-offices, a café, a terrace and lounging areas.
Distributed over three levels, we designed a friendly, comfortable and flexible space, professionally equipped with the latest technology to create a casual and dynamic environment for this community of creatives.
The interior design project for Hotel Oriente located in the Eastern side of Mexico City included a new name and branding. This hotel was very well known in the area, so it was important that changes were not radical and the playful result of switching the name initials set the guidelines maintaining the original name by adding the use of and expression related to emotions such as: happiness, joy and surprise: Oh to which an exclamation sign was added to emphasize the attitude.
Located in one of the most sought-after areas of Mexico City we were given the task of designing a department of 216 m2 just delivered and newly remodeled. The first thing we did was to open large spaces of light and double heights, since the department was very dark, had wasted spaces, corridors and small rooms, leaving many wasted areas; these things are exactly what you should not have a department of this level and cost, so we took on the task of minimizing the circulations and provide the best experience of moving from one space to another.
The 189.3 m2 house is located 25 minutes away from the city center of Mérida. The intention of building with earth is to create harmony between vernacular and modern architecture, tradition and technology, past and present; creating a style that mix schools and trends. With the combination of earth and a conventional material like concrete the old and the new work together.
For the master plan of this project we considered a distribution with a clear structure able to support the company´s activities. Barry-Callebaut required an operative center with an academy, green house, relaxing area and open space offices in a single area.
Parque Yucatán Housing is part of a wider project developed in central Mexico which deals with house industrialization processes. The implementation of a mixed construction system proposes the construction of a ground floor by traditional means –a brick and concrete wall closing a certain area- which is technified by a technical module. Over these enclosures, a series of prefabricated 2,44 x 6,10 x 3,06 m modules are lifted, built with metal frame structure and dry construction systems.
The housing complex is situated on a suburban area within the Puebla metropolitan area, and it is characterized through the configuration of certain particularities obtained from slight variations of a basic piece, a regular 12,20 x 6,10 x 3,06 m box.
At 600 meters above Monterrey city, in the middle of a magnificent forest of oaks and adjacent to the Chipinque Ecological Park, this house rises taking advantage of the spectacular views that nature provides.
