More than half a century after the last new building at the Bund, Shanghai’s historic promenade along the Huangpu River, the famous row of bank and commercial buildings from colonial times has been rounded off with a new architectural highlight. As the last building – for now – in the first row along the river, the Bund SOHO business and office ensemble, designed by gmp Architects von Gerkan, Marg and Partners, adds to the characteristic skyline which gave rise to Shanghai’s reputation as the „Paris of the east“. The practice had won the international competition organized by the SOHO China Group in 2011.

Red Rouge in Shanghai, China by 100architects

Friday, March 11th, 2016

Article source: 100architects

The proposal for Bar Rouge arises to reinterpret the known skyline of Shanghai.

To face this exercise we have imposed ourselves the requirement of pulling out the most recognizable feature of Bar Rouge, that specific thing which distinguishes Bar Rouge from the rest of clubs and bars in town.

That thing was clear for us; The stunning views of Shanghai’s most known skyline of Pudong.

Bar Rouge counts with Shanghai’s most privileged balcony, where you can sit down with your well served cocktail and enjoy the most amazing views over the new area of Pudong, which by themselves are an entertaining feature of Bar Rouge´s terrace.

Article source: Hcreates

The Clinic – by International Rehabilitation Specialists. The first of its kind in Shanghai, The Clinic, is a wellness, and rehabilitation center focusing on each person’s individual needs. The design aims to create an interior that overturns ones idea of the “sterile white walled” hospital environment. Raw materials of concrete, rustic wood, textured glass and industrial lighting have been used to create an intimate boutique style to the common spaces and treatment rooms. The minimalistic and natural finishes give suggestion to a spa interior to instill a feeling of relaxation and healing.
