In Nassim Villas, seamless design and cutting-edge technological exploration combine to create a building that emerges naturally from the hilly terrain on which it stands and the lush, tropical vegetation that surrounds it – utilizing overlapping volumes to fuse different program elements within a dramatic structure above the Singapore Botanical Gardens.
Mediacorp’s bold ambition to become the best employer has been the inspiration.
The building is designed as a self-sufficient carbon neutral building. With optimal daylight conditions and adding productivity gains, less sick days and better indoor climate for its people. Architecture can deliver functionality in an innovative way and become the working environment of choice.
UNStudio’s design for The Scotts Tower in Singapore will be the first development to be unveiled today under the Far East Organisation’s new SOHO brand. Designed to conserve space whilst maximizing live/work/play areas, The Scotts Tower presents a new dimension of functional and flexible vertical space.
Occupying a strategic position in the residential zone, the seven towers of d’Leedon grow from sunken gardens into the sky – each one articulated as a sequence of petals, generating great diversity and offering stunning views from every apartment, before blending into sky in a series of staggered fingers.
Safdie Architects has announced plans for a distinctive example of re-imagined urban living, designed by Moshe Safdie for mixed-income use. Unveiled in Singapore this week by Capital Land Residential Singapore and Mitsubishi Estate Asia, developers of the project, the new housing complex will be located on a 129,137-square-foot site in the heart of Bishan Central—one of Singapore’s most significant outlying residential areas. The condominium complex will comprise approximately 509 apartments, across two 38-story towers, and will incorporate private terraces, many common public spaces, and sky gardens. The design has been evolved from Safdie’s groundbreaking Habitat ‘67 by the architect and his firm, in a series of recent such projects, also including Golden Dream Bay in Qinhuangdao, China.
JENNER STUDIO DESIGNS NEW BOUTIQUE FOR PENHALIGON’S, SINGAPORE
London based design practice, Jenner Studio, has designed a new boutique in Singapore for Penhaligon’s, the heritage British fragrance house. From opening its first store on London’s Jermyn Street 140 years ago, Penhaligon’s, will now launch its first offering in Asia at the Ion Orchard on 15 August 2011.
Magnificent views towards the city from atop Siglap Hill inspired the design. Master and family room are placed on the third level having the best views. Living and Dining on the second level, connected with external verandahs / terraces that flow upwards and fold into the roof form with deep overhangs for sufficient shade and channeling the breeze through the whole house.

Hidden amidst the myriad of industrial shops, alongside flower sellers and street-side newspaper vendors in the vicinity of Little India, lies an eclectic boutique hotel – Wanderlust, which was originally an old school in the 1920’s. Derived from the concept “Industrial Glam”, anachronistic industrial elements that could be found within a stone’s throw made its way into the first level of the hotel with an unexpected twist. Filling the space with counters constructed by raw oxidized steel, neon signs set against tinted mirrors and re-constructed supermarket carts, the juxtaposition of these varied elements nevertheless permeate the interior with a quirky character.
The project demonstrates how technology, planning and design can be applied sensitively to generate a comfortable, luxurious, yet sustainable family home.
