Article source: Jump Branding & Design On February 29th in Las Vegas, Jump Branding & Design Inc. captured two Association for Retail Environments (A.R.E.) Sustainability Awards for their design of the South St. Burger Co. at Bayview Village in Toronto (Ontario, Canada). The seven year old branding and design agency won the coveted 2012 Sustainable Project of the Year and the 2012 Grand Prize Tenant Improvement awards for the restaurant design.
The A.R.E. Sustainability Awards is the only competition focused on sustainable retail design, honoring retail projects for outstanding green building achievement. Entries are judged on innovation in design, integration, and benchmarks, and the highest honors go to projects that balance comprehensive sustainability with design aesthetic and functionality. The competition draws entries from around the world; with winning projects from the U.S., Canada, Mexico, the U.K., France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Austria, and India. JUMP Branding & Design Inc. has been the design agency of record since the inception of the South St. Burger Co. concept, among other high profile Canadian brands. This project was the most challenging one yet; it was the first time either company had ventured into LEED Certification process, and marked South St. Burger Co.’s first shopping centre location in Ontario. “Bayview Village is a destination for all things Haute Couture, and caters to a discerning clientele. This was a fascinating project blending a premium burger concept with a fashion centric environment, using LEED Certification design standards, and pull it all together to represent a contemporary design, fitting the South St. Burger Co. brand and all stakeholders,” comments Eric Boulden, president at JUMP Branding & Design Inc. “We feel very fortunate to be recognized for our work on this project, especially considering the impressive projects of the other nominees.” These awards fall on the heels of JUMP’s win at last year’s A.R.E. awards in the category of ‘Innovation in Energy 2011 Sustainable Award’ for South St.’s “Urban Concept” Shops at Don Mills location, which opened in 2010. In keeping with South St. Burger Co.’s sustainability initiatives and to achieve LEED certification standards, the Bayview Village location reflects: • Reduced energy consumption and optimized energy performance, About Jump Branding & Design Inc.
