The client of this project is an advertising agency, who providing full industry chain service in West China. In the earliest beginning, when the client invite us and introduce themselves, we were attracted by their unique “big platform + branch company” structure. Starting from this very point as concept, we developed the whole space design.
Different departments and functions have been placed into dozens of boxes, which differ in size and material. Every box is opened to the outside; the space is open, and maintaining spatial layers in the meantime. Different public spaces have been inserted into these boxes, for example, a “small plaza” which can hold various activities, a semi-outdoor “balcony” which transformed from previous HVAC room, a lounge space which adjacent to large meeting room, a coffee/print area which can looking out to views etc. They provide “meet by chance” and communication place for people in different departments, who may not know each other before, expecting more possibilities might happen.
