Urban development block with a high rise for office, hotel, wellness and commercial use
In a three-level peer review process that resulted in two first-prize winners, an urban planning concept was developed for the area of what was once the post office on Erkrather Strasse. The so-called “Quartier M” is to serve as the future link between the Hauptbahnhof central station and Tanzhaus NRW/Capitol, becoming a lively city quarter for living and working. In addition to offices and a hotel, the trend-setting urban design also provides for both privately financed and government subsidized public housing.
Other plans include space for a day care center for children and service providers for the quarter.
Articulated through a series of ‘petals’, the Dubai Financial Exchange building makes a powerful architectural statement at the heart of the new waterfront business bay. Comprising a heavy sculptural solid ‘floated’ above a lighter volume of glass, the building successfully accommodates both broker ‘shop fronts’ and a central trading floor area.
The design of the Two Towers in its inception is a series of manipulated manifolds that construct a dual vertical lattice with angled surfaces. The towers radiate vertically deriving from a multisided body, diamond shaped, molded, intended for diversity, complexity, and robustness in form. Elongated diamond bodies functions as a poly-operational structure that addresses flows of energy, circulation, dynamic composites, both aesthetically and material make up.
The project includes the detailed design and construction of a central square in connection with the forming of a new center in Lørenskog, a suburb to Oslo. L2Architects have designed the building that surrounds an enclosed urban space. The surrounding building houses cinema, performance halls and entertainment venues.The central square is designed as a comfortable and pleasant gathering place for the local residents. The square accommodates seating,fountains, planting sand is beautifully lit at night.

This project concerns the construction of a 30,000 m2 block in the Confluence redevelopment area – in the south of Lyons, where its two rivers meet – to group housing, offices and shops. Both the developer and the municipality wanted a blend of architectural designs and programmes, composed by five different architects, each team handling one part of the whole. Given the desired high density, the first objective was to imagine a site plan that would federate the urban and architectural issues in a coherent set endowed with strong visual identity.
ADEPT AND URBANUS WIN INTERNATIONAL SKYSCRAPER COMPETITION IN SHENZHEN
On November 7th, 2011, the winner of a large international architectural competition, ‘The Two Towers’, was announced in Shenzhen, China. The team selected to design this new Shenzhen landmark – comprising 100.000 square meters in total – is a constellation of ADEPT (DK) and Urbanus (CHN) with VSA (HK), Max Fordham LLP (GB) and Beijing CCI Architectural Design Co, LTD (CHN). The jury meeting was hosted at the Shenzhen Municipal Planning Building with Pritzker Prize winner Thom Mayne as chairman of the jury.
The Atelier Notify constitutes a hybrid, part shop, part production line – presenting a fluid facade to the exterior, striking an elegant sculptural gesture within – creating a powerful dynamic flow which moves customers through both the space and the processes involved in the creation of denim garments.
