The main goal of our work for Alony was to create an open and pleasant feeling for visitors in spite of the many products displayed in the showroom. For this reason, we decided to use only black, gray and white colors and avoided tall display walls at the entrance, instead placing them at the back to allow a full view of the room. The concrete ceiling, which we decorated with minimalist details, became the central feature of the space. Finally, advising booths were placed at the center of the room to convey the message of openness and availability; this was the same principle that guided the design of the welcome desk, a low structure made out of wood, which invites clients to make inquiries.

White in the East has always been a concept. From the techniques of line drawing in Chinese painting to the intention of leaving blank with ink splashing, until the status change to conceptual “emptiness” from “white” by means of religion, can be a milestone upgrading of collective thinking. Modern western architecture also uses “white”, but the western white is a logical strategy to lighten or give up, which is simple and “straightforward” with less concept. “White”, was born in the East.
Chan Town Showroom is located within the Qianxin Scenic Area of Longnan County, Ganzhou, Jiangxi Province, which is situated at the Qianshan Mountain, a stretch of the northeastern foothills of the Jiu-lian Mountain National Nature Reserve with an average altitude of 600 meters. The half-moon shaped site is halfway on a mountainside, vaguely visible even before arrival while circling up the mountain road. The north side of the site is wide open with unblocked views towards ridges from nearby and afar. The south side bounds the site against the mountain in the back yet divided by a curved footpath spiraling up in the south. The most significant physical condition of the site, on a separate note, is the 8-meter height difference from the east to the west.
Merkez Ankara Showroom is a 2.415 sqm building located in Turkey. The building is a sales office for Merkez Ankara, which is a mixed-use project of residences and offices. It contains mock-up apartment flats, administrative and sales offices, and small inner and outer gardens. The principal design idea is to integrate nature into architecture through the use of gardens. The inner courtyards and outer backyards are placed between the open spaces sequentially. The rectangular shaped gardens physically separate spaces that have different functions such as model area, lounge etc. The separation of spaces through transparent courtyards gives way to visual continuity and the increase in the perception of depth. Blurring the distinction between inside and outside, the gardens ensure natural light reach every corner of the building. Nature is integrated into the daily lives of office users that way. Inner courtyards help the users to observe daily and seasonal changes of nature. In that sense, the interior space becomes a dynamic entity in which you can interact with nature.
