Sited on a site slightly under an acre in the heart of the Pacific Palisades area of Los Angeles, the site for this estate residence descends over thirty feet from top to bottom. Narrow at the street and widening toward the rear, the building was designed to appear as a very private single story structure from the street and expand as the house moves into the site. At just under 14,000 sq. ft. the house was conceived of as a California Modernist Estate the building utilizes the site slope and widening to create a wing typology each reaching into the site to capture garden spaces, set up views and account for service amenities.
To understand the essence of the preexistence of this building we rely on its history narrated by the former users, aiming for the proposal being the next step in the evolution of this small house located near the centre of Asunción on a plot of just six meters width.
The residence is shaped by two volumes arranged according to the unconventional geometry of the site.
The main volume, the one that stands out by the extensive use of glass, holds the public program of the residence, made up of living and dining rooms and an office. The helicoidal staircase, one of the client’s specific requirements, is contained in this volume, gaining prominence in the social entrance hall.

Made to disappear. This is how the concept for this house on the island of Mallorca is presented, a few meters from the shore of the Mediterranean sea.
The house is made up of a set of pieces that move in one direction, offering exterior spaces as patios between the various volumes that contain the different interior uses. Thus, with this movement, a volume is fragmented into small parts, giving each of them a unique character and their own autonomy. The house is conceived with natural materials, but built with current technology, paying attention to economy, precision and continuity. The lay-out on the ground floor maximizes the relationship with the exterior and prioritizes the views of the sea through large openings protected from solar incidence by eaves that generate large exterior terraces.
The refurbishment of this semi-detached house, a very common type in São Paulo, was planned to receive a Therapeutic Residential that attends, guide and shelter patients in a state of mental suffering.
When Jim Brett and Ed Gray decided to launch a sister property to their exclusive-use Villa Maison Noir in Hout Bay, Cape Town, it was with the intention of creating yet another sanctuary-like space that was inspired and informed by the natural beauty of the bordering Oudekraal Nature Reserve and surrounding areas. To bring this vision to fruition, the couple earmarked a plot of land right next door to Villa Maison Noir and dreamed of replacing the drab 1970s-style building housed on the site with something much more memorable.
A summer house for a Barcelona family in Mallorca. Villa Malgrats honours the Malgrats islands just in front of the house; takes the name and the concept is conceived around the magnificent views to the islands.
A great location in the southwest of Mallorca by the coast, but with a house and a road in between the property and the sea.
The goal of the design is to bring the islands to the house and embrace it, no matter if the property is not front line.
The house sits on Siglap Hill, the highest point in a residential suburb in the eastern part of Singapore. As the highest point, the site is breezy and enjoys spectacular views of the surrounding low-rise neighbourhood and the city skyline.
At the foot of a hill and surrounded by lush vegetation Casa M is located at the center of an exclusive paradise in which everything was considered in order to enjoy to the most the wonders of nature. This retreat is distributed in two generous levels that divide the public from the private areas, intended in the program to exploit the full potential of the communication between interior and exterior favoring each space with magnificent views.
Tara villa is a small resort situated at the bank of Kwai river. This place can support weddings, conferences and other feasts. There is a large area on the rear of the project provided for further residential construction. The common building provided as a reception and multi-purpose court was placed along and confront the direction of Kwai river as to take advantage of river view. The court which was connected with swimming pool by the end of this continuous space, lied an exclusive family suite type-residential room. This room specially provided for a group of family rather than a couple because of the possibility of the disturbance noise. Otherwise, it can be converted to accommodate a spouse as a honeymoon suite type because of its spacious area, so the couple would be independent from the rest of the visitors in the other wing of resort.
