Lightspeed in Montreal, Canada by ACDF Architecture

Wednesday, April 20th, 2016

Article source: ACDF Architecture

For the new global headquarters of Lightspeed, a burgeoning, Montreal-based developer of point-of-sale software, ACDF Architecture reinvigorated three floors of the historical Viger train station and hotel, a nearly forgotten, chateaustyle building whose pointed turrets overlook a prominent civic square. The studio did so by preserving the found, raw elements of the once-abandoned space, superimposing a layer of select, slick, wit-filled elements that pop against the roughness and reflect the clients’ dynamic, creative and vigorous brand.

Lucent – De Alliantie headquarters in Hilversum, Netherlands by Studioninedots

Friday, April 8th, 2016

Article source: Studioninedots

Studioninedots’ design transforms an existing 1970s office building on the Lucent site in Hilversum into the new headquarters of de Alliantie, a Dutch housing corporation. The most eye-catching intervention involves the removal of large areas of infill floors and walls from the sturdy concrete structure. This creates a spectacular four-storey-high void, the light and lively new heart of the building that connects the different departments.
