Article source: ADEPT

Customized brickwork merge history and now in ADEPTs new mixed-use complex

The historic Carlsberg Brewery site in Copenhagen has opened to the public to become part of the city  – and is now seriously embarking on the successful transformation to a dense urban neighbourhood of its own, the Carlsberg City. Transforming many of the preserved buildings, designed by some of the best European architects of the era, the new neighbourhood is at the same time a unique cultural-historical environment and an attractive modern district. New images by Rasmus Hjortshoj shows ADEPTs contribution to the area – Theodora House – shot in a corona-closed Copenhagen.

EDEN Singapore Apartments in Singapore by Heatherwick Studio

Wednesday, July 15th, 2020

Article source: Heatherwick Studio

Heatherwick Studio was commissioned by Swire Properties to design an apartment building in the historic Newton district of Singapore. Inspired by the vision of a ‘city in a garden’ imagined by Lee Kuan Yew fi fty years ago, and by the lush tropical setting of the area, the studio’s design is a radical departure from the glass and steel tower typology. The studio set out to craft homes within a garden that also harnessed all the benefi ts of apartment living; a place where residents would feel connected to the city’s tree-lined streets whilst enjoying views, light and privacy.

Ha Long Villa in Quang Ninh, Vietnam by VTN architects

Wednesday, June 10th, 2020

Article source: VTN architects

Vietnam has an abundance of nature and townscapes that are registered as World Heritage Sites. Economic growth due to the increase in tourism has raised the standard of living but has also given way to reckless development by clearing away nature. To tackle this situation, we want to create a house that will connect people and nature. Ha Long, home to Ha Long Villa, is a beautiful coastal city in northern Vietnam, 160 km northeast of Hanoi. It is also home to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Ha Long Bay. In particular, it is a city abundant with local industries such as fisheries and coal mining, and it is a region that is rapidly developing alongside its tourism industry. The site is near the coast and overlooks Ha Long Bay with a landscape made of thousands of large and small rocks.
